q: What got you into photography?
a: I was carrying my friend’s DSLR for them, and a girl asked if I’d take her senior photos. I said it wasn’t my camera and that I knew nothing about photography, but I guess she didn’t care. It was weird cause I went to an art school where there were a ton of people who would’ve actually known what they were doing haha. I’m really glad she asked me though!
q: You’ve shot many portraits, do you give directions or tell to your subjects what to do when taking their photograph?
a: I do if I know exactly what I want a certain shot to look like, but I like when people do their own thing. My shoots tend to be pretty spontaneous for the most part.
q: What was the last movie you watched?
a: Lars and the Real Girl. It’s my favorite movie of all time.
q: Any new music to recommend?
a: They’re not super new but I’ve been into Johnny Ill Band and Tyvek recently, and I’m a big fan of Kleenex Girl Wonder’s Ponyoak album. My favorite band is The Spinto Band though! I just got one of their albums tattooed, so maybe I’ll get a free t-shirt or something haha.
